ABOUT 'SWING MACHINE'
A new small band with a big sound, based in South West Wales. Musical director Keith Marshall, who plays piano and keyboards, is responsible for the custom arrangements that make Swing Machine sound bigger than it really is. Over the last few months or so Keith has re-written the scores for both the backing arrangements for West Wales based Julie Jackson and the instrumentals for the band to deliver a great repertoire. Keith has a history of writing for award winning big bands, small orchestras, rock and pop groups in both studio and theatre and live on the South of England gig circuit –which the band has revisited during the last year. The band features the most in demand and versatile of W Wales musicians. Scott Pickrell, John Rodge, Andy Jackson, Chris Ryan, Rob Owen and Dave James who are performing regularly and are great soloists in their own right. They each bring some great instrumental skills and a unique blend to the West Wales music scene and particularly the arrangements written for this ensemble. Instrumentals & Vocals from Ella & Basie to Adele & Rumer with lots in between!
Swing Machine has appeared with acclaim at occasions such as anniversary and birthday private parties, 40s themed events, music festivals, corporate dinner dances, major charity events and the occasional smarter wedding. The stage appearance of the band is excellent and features a digital grand piano and all necessary PA. Incidental Piano music during pre-dinner drinks reception and prior to any dancing, can be provided by Keith to enhance suitable occasions when appropriate. The band consists of 7 instrumentalists, one vocalist and two ‘roadies’ who are responsible for transportation. We welcome suggestions for your requirements, and are happy to chat and offer any other information required.

“Never danced so much in my life, impossible to resist. Great sound!”
- Roger J Carmarthen
“Every smart party should hire this band- thought it was impossible to have liked a female vocalist singing Tom Jones – Julie changed my mind. Thanks again”
- Susan F. Llandovery
"Keith- thanks for a great job – the band sounds incredible and just like a much bigger outfit but with just seven players. Great to see you up this way again. That makes it a 21st, a 40th a 70th and now an 80th you’ve done for this family. More to come!"
- Annabel L , Hever Kent
“Great Forties evening that was really made by the band with some brilliant songs from Julie. Terrific dancing from the Lindy Hoppers. Looking forward to the ’60 years of Music evening in Llansteffan in August”
- Mike M, Llanybri
“Keith- must be the 6th time we’ve heard the band, enjoy it hugely every time. Let us know when you have anything here again”
- Alan C Llansteffan
